    Waagner-Biro's subsidiary Qualter, Hall was commissioned to refurbish the inner pair of lock sector gates and provide a new electrical control system for the complete lock.

    The scope of works included:

    • Remove inner pair of lock gates
    • New surface treatment of the gates
    • Replacement of all seals
    • Refurbishment of all winch drives
    • Supply all new electrical equipment and cabling to operate full lock with new PLC control
    • Re-installation of gates and equipment, and commissioning
